Swamiji's message to Smt. Jayalalitha
I have great faith in the leadership of Smt. Jayalalitha. Her administration in the next few years will transform Tamil Nadu and, along with it, the lives of millions. She has the heart of a loving mother and she has suffered much and borne it with equanimity and dignity. Only those who can accept suffering with an even mind are ready for achievement. She will achieve a lot in the future. All her legal hurdles will also go away in due course. Time will prove these words right.
Life can also be called saptagiri or seven hills. In the English alphabet, the first seven letters are from A to G. Everyone should have a goal of Achieving something in their lives. For that, the mind must be turned into a Benevolent state. We must think of the welfare of others before we think of our selfish needs. A lot of Courage is required for this as we may face many odds along the way. With Determination, we can reach our goal. Along the journey there will be obstacles and difficulties that will test us. Through Equanimity of the mind, any hurdle can be easily crossed. Faith in God is the pillar that holds up our sadhana through thick and thin. These are qualities that should be adopted and practiced by anyone who wants to achieve something in life. This is especially true for our leaders. We have elected them for a purpose, betterment of our lives. They must think of the entire nation just as they think of their own families and friends. If even one day is lost without making an effort, it is a great loss. Our leaders must not go without making an effort for even a day because it will create loss for millions of people. It is a great responsibility to lead. Along with that, it is our duty to follow the right path. A train cannot pull carriages unless they are linked. We are linked to our leaders through our vote. It takes a second to vote, but that link must be maintained both by the leaders and the people they serve. One driver sitting in a train engine can transport thousands to their destination. Similarly a leader can transport millions of people from poverty to prosperity as long as they follow the tracks of selfless service to the people. For this to happen, hearts have to change. Women have a naturally soft and receptive heart. Mother earth nurtures us all. She does not expect anything from us. She gives everything to us. In return, what must we do? We must work with mother nature rather than against her. My blessings to Smt Jayalalitha and to every one of you. - Swamiji, May 25th, 2016 |
