Be like a lotus flower
II Vella Thaniyada Malar Neetam

In Nature, everything is in balance. Nature is not a human creation, it is God’s creation. Humans are part of nature. In the world, we see some places which are at a great height and other places which are in deep valleys. These ups and downs balance each other. We should also maintain a perfect balance despite the ups and downs in our lives. That is a very common occurrence and everyone is subject to good and bad times.
We should remain unaffected like a lotus flower. As the water level in a pond rises, so does the lotus flower. It is unaffected by the water and is not attached to the water. The roots may go deep into the dirt and filth that may lie on the bottom, but its flowers are beautiful to see and are very fragrant.
Newton’s law - every action has an equal and opposite reaction holds true in nature. We are sending so many rockets into space these days. The enormous thrust from the rocket engines puts a tremendous load on the earth. It may not seem apparent, but it slowly causes an imbalance in nature. Nature will again find a way to restore balance and this may result in natural disasters.
Humans should always entertain positive thoughts and feelings. Negativity should be shunned. Our thoughts should be like the lotus flower. We should bring sweetness and fragrance to the world through our thoughts, words, and actions.
It is not important where we come from or where we live. What is important is our contributions. We should not waste even a single moment in idle thought and gossip. Time is our only asset. Trees have no sense organs, but they are continually contributing to maintaining harmony in nature. Humans who are endowed with 6 senses are working towards the destruction of nature.
In the near future, humans will be at odds with one another. Guns will replace handshakes. The mind will prefer guns to a friendly handshake. If this trend continues there will be great suffering in the world. Many people will have to endure sorrow.
Nature distributes resources everywhere. It does not hoard it in one place. Humans, on the other hand, hoard money and valuables in one place without using or spending them. Humans are very selfish in this regard. A lotus plant, if it is not used it dies and rots in the same place as it appeared. Similarly, money will return to its source when it is obtained through wrong means. Whatever we have in our hands today, we should use it wisely and for the benefit of others, even if it is for the benefit of the family it is alright as long as some use comes out of money.
Even the body is a resource. Keeping it idle is like hoarding money. It should be used for good purposes till the very end. Only then can we call ourselves humans. Water is always useful. Similarly, we should also strive to be useful to others all the time. By this, we correct our wrong thinking and when the majority of humans are this way, handshakes will again replace guns.
On account of the ego, everyone are competitive. They don’t use their God given intelligence. An analog watch has three needles, the second, minute, and hour hands. When we misuse our power and money, our luck and position will change like the fast moving second hand. The next moment we may lose everything. No one can say it cannot happen to them. Those who are in the habit of comparing themselves with others are like the minute hand. Their mind keeps moving and cannot be steady. Those who are like the lotus flower, unaffected by the world are as steady as the hour hand. It moves but we cannot see its movements so easily.
Everyone meets the same end, whether a King or an ordinary man. A King’s throne is just for show. The end is the same as that of a beggar. If we realize this, we will not waste time, use it for wrong purposes or postpone what needs to be done today and now.
Blessings to all
