Who am I?
Everything is within us, there is no need to look elsewhere for happiness. We don’t have the understanding that there is nothing lacking within and as a result, we suffer. When we don’t know the value of life, we tend to waste time on trivial and meaningless pursuits. Once we know the value of our lives, we won’t have enmity with anyone. For those who understand themselves, nothing will be difficult.
Work is a very important aspect of our lives. We focus on the type of work and not the actual work itself. As a result, we don’t give 100% effort towards the work. The happiness we get is proportional to the effort and interest we have in our work, whatever type of occupation it may be. Money is less important. We value the work based on the compensation given. This is the wrong way to approach work. It will take away from the joy of working.
For example, miners working in a gold mine and a coal mine may get the same salary, but the product they help create is very different. However, without coal, we cannot process gold and make jewelry, and without gold, we cannot afford to extract coal. Both are important.
People value us differently according to their manner of thinking. Some may compare us to coal, others may compare us to gold. However, the one who knows himself will not bother with external validation. He or she will be happy with himself or herself. This happiness comes from within.
Everyone has one or more unique attributes that others in the world may not possess. It is up to us to discover our uniqueness. This makes everyone equal, as each one has something different to share with the world. Those who understand themselves will see all as equal. For such people, there will be no birth or death, joy or sorrow, and there will be no disease or need for a cure. They will not different between health and disease. Every moment is taken as it is, without interpretation or comparison.
There is a universal power, we may call that power God. Everyone is under the influence of that power. We may think that someone ruined us or we helped elevate someone to a higher position in life. Whether we face ruin or we grow in status, it is not the work of anything external. That universal power within directs from within according to how our mind operates. That power is always affirming “Thathasthu.” If we say we are bad we become bad, and if we say we are good, we become that one day. Those who understand who they are will always have a good thought and no external power can bring them misery or ruin.
Humans have a lot of power. In terms of electricity, it is said that the physical body has 11 KV of energy. If we know how to utilize this energy, we can charge the mind with it. Even if we come face to face with a lion, we can stand fearlessly when we affirm with a powerful mind that the lion cannot do any harm. We don’t know how to save and utilize this power. Those who know who they are, have the capacity to use this God give power which is there within us.
This inner power is more valuable than all the gold and diamonds in the world. This energetic field once harnessed extends about 1 kilometer all around us. The basic requirements to access this power are:
Putting in effort and working hard without any expectations
Don’t demonstrate or exert ego or power
Don’t complain about others
Harbor no thoughts of revenge
No negative thoughts or criminal actions, however trivial
Always have a curiosity about the inner self that is within all
Respect all
Help whenever possible
By understanding ourselves, we also become healthy. The source of all diseases which are worry, discontentment, revengeful attitude, creating problems for others and so on, will not be there in those who understand themselves.
Aadatha aadatha raaga
Alatha alatha roga
We seek what we don’t have, and in the process, we don’t enjoy what we have. Once we learn to enjoy all the gifts we have with full gratitude, it becomes the initial step towards understanding who we are.
Blessings to all
