How to enjoy life through hard work and to live without expectations.
It is a common sight in the villages and countrysides to see crows sitting on buffalos. Crows peck the skin of buffalos and if there is a wound on the skin, crows may peck on that wound. The one that silently suffers is the buffalo and not the crow. A buffalo is more useful than a crow, providing milk, helping with the plowing of land, etc. Even after its death, its skin is used in the form of leather. But a crow does not provide any value. Similarly, intelligent people who are good and kind can contribute a lot to humankind.
On the other hand, dacoits, rowdies, terrorists, those who live by cheating others and those who cannot discriminate between good and bad actions are like the crow which sits on a buffalo. A small creature like a crow can cause pain and suffering to a big creature like a buffalo. Similarly, those who are talented, intelligent, prosperous through their hard work are preyed upon by people who are simply of nuisance value to society.
A crow after it pecks a buffalo and has its fill may sit on an electrical pole and wire. Its feathers may touch a live wire and the bird gets electrocuted. It’s suffering ultimately is greater than what it causes. Similarly, those who trouble others may in course of time, face greater adversity themselves.
People who are cultured and intelligent retain their values even if others trouble them. They are like sea shells. Even when burnt, sea shells retain their characteristic color. It may be powdered but its color will not change. Forbearance is the quality of the noble and intelligent. They suffer, but they remain silent. People who grab from others and live for themselves will not be able to demonstrate these qualities. They won’t be happy in the long run.
In order to be happy, always work, eat with joy and gratitude, sleep deeply, and enjoy life to the fullest. This is within reach of everyone. Leaving these simple methods of being happy, people turn to shortcuts and descend into dacoity, stealing, robbing, causing terror, fooling people through false flattery.
Human life is very precious and a great gift. Not living in accordance with this valuable gift, makes us lower than animals. All humans and animals eat food to survive. Just because all animals and humans eat food, one cannot become like another. There is a lot of difference between a pig and a cow. A cow makes a different noise when being fed and when it is led to slaughter it quietly lies down. Pigs, on the other hand, make the same kind of grunt. Good people are like cows. They are always grateful and kind.
Trying to educate bad people is like writing on sand. It will not stick in their minds for long. On the other hand, motivating and teaching good people is like carving on a rock. The message cannot be erased from their mind.
Like is very short. It is like a water bubble. While there is life in the body, following the righteous path is the best way to live. A good life can be condensed into these three words - Srigandha, Kalpavruksha, and Kamadhenu.
Blessings to all
