Significance of breath (Swara Yoga) and the Moon
Hundreds and thousands of years ago, our sages, rishis, and munis used to live in forests and meditated for long periods of time in isolated places. They made an in-depth study of the breath and made great discoveries through that. Breath science or Swara Yoga is the basis of all Yogas. They measured the incoming and outgoing breath and made calculations about distances first using their thumb, then the length of the lower arm from the elbow to the fingertips, followed by the length of the legs, and finally the arm span. From this, they created units to measure the distance between two sticks connected by a thread and using this as the basis, they were able to measure great distances such as the circumference of the earth, etc. Aryabhatta the ancient Indian mathematician made such accurate calculations that they don’t vary by more than 0.2% according to modern instruments.
5000 years ago in the Mahabharata, they wrote about 7 planes of existence. They are represented by the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Rahu, and Ketu. They did this through their meditation on the breath. Indians also discovered the number zero, one of the most valuable numbers on the numerical scale.
Ancient textbooks written in Tamil, such as the Sukar Nadi and Kundalini Yoga books provide a wealth of knowledge. They also describe how life came about. It started with water, then plant material which after decomposing created the organic substrate for bacteria. From here, life branched out into three - land, sea, and water forms. Finally, man evolved. It has taken millions of years.
Humans are unique in that they have an intelligence which they can use. With this intelligence, we have reached the moon. India just launched a manned vehicle to the moon. The moon is like the mother and the sun is like the father. Every living being has 2 openings for breathing, the left, and the right nostrils. The right nostril corresponds to the sun and the left nostril corresponds to the moon. During Kundalini Yoga meditation, we study the Ida Nadi which corresponds to the moon and through this, we can find out information about the moon itself. The moon has a very irregular surface. When the Ida or the Chandra Nadi is active, the body will be lethargic, the activity will be less. The water component in the body will have more power than the solid component and diseases may occur. When the Pingala or the Surya Nadi is active, there is more power in the body and the influence of the water component is lessened. Those who practice Kundalini Yoga and Swara Yoga know about this link between the moon and the day.
Through this science, which I learned from my esteemed Guru, I can say that our ISRO scientists will establish contact with the moon lander after the 25th of September. Just as we display our certificates as proof of our accomplishments, India is proudly demonstrating to the world about our scientific prowess. This is a stepping stone and not a failure that we have not contacted the moon lander. From this mission, many new technologies may come about. We should not blame the ISRO scientists. We should be proud of them. Like them, we should also work hard and contribute to the Nation’s development.
Blessings to all
