Knowledge is power
The night sky full of stars floating above our heads, is like a vast ocean. Nobody can claim the starry sky as their own. Anyone can enjoy them. One does not need to be rich have that enjoyment. One can behold the entire sky in one’s eyes. Even if a billion people look at the sky and derive enjoyment, the sky remains unaffected. Such is the power of knowledge. It belongs to no one, yet everyone can enjoy the power it gives.
Knowledge is the only “weapon” one ever needs. It offers great protection and armed with knowledge the entire world can be had in one’s hands. True knowledge makes one compassionate, caring and ego free. Knowledge can be used and reused over and over again without it diminishing. In fact, more it is used the more it grows. It is as vast and endless as the oceans.
The one equipped with knowledge is ever happy and will depend on nothing and no one for deriving happiness and satisfaction. It is a gift of the divine that everyone has access to. But in order to get it, one must first aspire and work for it. It must be earned. The hard work one puts in to earn knowledge brings it own rewards.
When equipped with true knowledge, one becomes very flexible in all situations and when it comes to one’s personal needs; yet remaining as strong as a pillar when others need help. Knowledge cannot be taken away just as the stars cannot be erased from a night sky or the oceans cannot be emptied. When happiness depends less on the products of knowledge and more on the acquisition of knowledge, one becomes self sustaining.
Birds and animals are in constant search for food and shelter. That is their dharma. Ours is the search for knowledge. Without putting in any effort to fulfill our dharma, human life is as good, if not worse than animal life. At least animals are happy in their own limited existence. Without knowledge, humans can never be happy. That happiness only increases if that knowledge is shared not hoarded.
Blessings to all
