Border security without border guards
Swamiji says…
The wealth of a nation is only as strong as the strength of its borders. In the present time, the two are totally disconnected. Thanks to our vibrant democracy, every citizen of this country is free to pursue his or her dream. The riches we earn through our hard work is ours to keep. There is freedom to move and spend. Where does this freedom come from and what does it depend on?
The blood, sweat and tears of the men and women in uniform make it possible for us to enjoy freedom. In the body, blood has freedom to move and this freedom is in turn dependent on the integrity of the outermost layer of the body which is the skin. The external borders of a country are its “skin”. An intact and healthy skin keeps the body functioning well. If the skin breaks down, microbes can enter and cause great harm to the body. Antisocial and anti national elements are like microbes waiting to infiltrate any weakness in the external boundaries of a country. One can only imagine the fatigue and stress the armed forces of a country endure in keeping us safe. They have to be vigilant 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have the luxury of sleeping 8 hours a day, keeping our wealth locked up safely in a bank, while they stand on guard on our behalf. While we take vacations, they have to man their border stations.
The least we can do as citizens is to get along with one another and support them in their efforts to keep our country safe. We work for money, the armed forces don’t. They are ready to lay down their lives for the country. Indifference towards the armed forces must be replaced by deference to them. If public servants experience what they endure day to day and can be as brave as them in playing a constant game of hide and seek with death, they would be more careful in how they take their responsibilities in running the country.
The external borders of our country is much more secure than the internal functioning of our various government agencies. Money is the enemy when it interferes with the functioning of the government through corruption. The efforts of Sri Narendra Modi in weeding out corruption must be lauded. If we cannot be brave enough to go and guard our nation’s borders, we must atleast try to guard its coffers by rooting out corruption at all levels. If government servants are not honest, one day they may be replaced by machines and robots. In fact, it would be a good idea to give our armed forces manning the countries and borders a well deserved break by deploying an army of robots made of steel that can do the dangerous job at the front lines without sacrificing precious lives. Such vehicles and machinery can be run through natural power- solar and rainwater for instance. Those brave and honest military men and women can instead be given posts in the government. Guarding against graft and corruption is more critical these days and they would not have to sacrifice their lives in doing that.
Blessings to all

Swamiji says that BJP is the party that will win the next assembly elections in Karnataka. However, he says, winning is not the most important thing. Bringing development and growth to villages and the remote parts of the country what true winning is.
